Course Description

Welcome to "Acrylic Abstract Painting - Loosen Up".

In this course I'm going to be showing you several ways that you can loosen up your acrylic abstract paintings.

You may be thinking "What does loosen up mean?" or "Why should you want to loosen up your paintings?" or simply "How can you loosen up your abstract paintings?"

Let's start at the beginning. Loosen Up means giving your paintings a more expressive, emotionally charged feeling to them. It means learning to trust your own intuition more.

And loosening up your work will release more of your unique inner creativity, allowing you to express yourself better as an artist.

So How Do You Do That?

How do you loosen up? Well that's what this course is all about. I'll be sharing with you techniques that I've personally used to help me, and that you can use also to get looser more expressive compositions.

Now some of these techniques are a little weird, but I'll ask you to keep an open mind and just try them.

I promise you'll have a Lot of Fun and by the time you complete the course you'll know how to Loosen Up Your Paintings!

The Long brush was a challenge. I started with a thin Gum tree branch for the first strokes, then changed to a 3/4 corner dowell. It is such a funny feeling trying to paint with a long wobbly stick. I did the first two with the right hand. Then the subsequent ones with the left hand two hours later we were done. Not sure whether I was meant to work that long but was trying to improve it all the time. I will do the challenge again and maybe try to complete it in less time. Having no control is really frustrating but hilarious. Alison Duke
